A few weeks ago I was invited by ThinkAhead (an education solutions provider)  to give a talk on AI and its role in Education -a talk that was well received by all who attended and gave much food for thought to the attendees. I have to admit, it was one of the best talks I have done in a while as education and AI are both topics that are very close to my heart, especially education.

I was then invited to be a judge for their 2019 Excellence in Education awards, and was included amongst an esteemed panel judges from all over the world.

Excellence in Education Judge for  the Coding Challenge

All judges across all categories from across the globe

Without a doubt, this was one of the most inspirational competitions I’ve judged and a huge congratulations to all of the Coding Challenge finalists! A special congratulations to 1st place winner in the “Coding Challenge” to “Pet Finder” by St Stithians Boys’ Preparatory School’s Abulele Tanga & Sahil Maharaj with teacher Kirsty Sidwell. You guys rocked.

While I was not able to be  present at the “Excellence in Education Awards” last night , I did put together a quick video giving overall feedback and some encouragement to all aspiring app creators out there. I am always judging competitions pro bono (part of my small way of giving back to the tech and digital community) and it was an absolute pleasure to be part of this.

Here is the short clip which I hope gives the new generation some advice on researching real-world solutions. :
